Terms of use
Updated 28 October 2026. The rules for using AwaySwing, in plain words.
Using AwaySwing
AwaySwing is for scoring, following and streaming cricket. You need to be 13 or older to make an account (a parent or guardian makes one for a younger player). Keep your sign-in to yourself; what's done with your account is your responsibility.
Scoring fairly
Score matches that really happened, as they happened. AwaySwing checks results, asks the other team to confirm them, and may hold back or remove matches that look made up, so that tables, records and careers stay true for everyone. Don't add people to teams without their agreement, and don't use another person's name or Player ID.
What you share
Scorecards, results and team names are public, as they are at any club. Photos, team logos, rules documents and streams you add must be yours to share, and nothing unlawful, hateful or indecent. You keep what you create; you let AwaySwing show it in the app and on its web pages so others can follow the cricket. Streams go to your own YouTube channel, or the streaming service you choose, under their terms.
YouTube
Connect YouTube uses YouTube API Services. By using it you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's use of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. What AwaySwing does with your channel is set out in our privacy policy.
The rain rule
The AwaySwing Rain Rule is our own method built from published research. It isn't the official DLS method: the umpires' and organisers' decisions stand.
If things go wrong
We work hard to keep AwaySwing running and your matches safe, but it's provided as it is. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. You can stop using AwaySwing and delete your account whenever you like.
Changes and contact
If these terms change in a way that matters, the app will tell you first. Questions: [email protected]. See also our privacy policy.
